I AM PROUD TO BECOME THE PRESIDENT OF THIS FINE ROTARY CLUB...
On Thursday night was the installation of Russell Iffland as President of Rotary Club Eastern Seaboard, held at the Siam Bayshore Resort.
MC Past President Jan Abbink welcomed all Rotarians and Friends of Rotary Club Eastern Seaboard and introduced the attending Rotary Clubs:
Past District Governor Premprecha Dibbayawan
of the Rotary Club of Pattaya
Past Presidents Brendan Kelly and Gudmund Eiksund and members of the Rotary Club
Charter President Stephan Heynert, Past President Heiner Moessing and members of
Rotary Club Phoenix -
Past & Incoming President Joseph Roy and members of Rotary Club Pattaya-
Past President Rene Clausen of the Rotary Club of Bangkapi -
Past President Peter Rottmann of the Rotary Club of Krasang -
Russell was installed by Past District Governor Premprecha Dibbayawan of the Rotary Club of Pattaya
Russell thanked every one for coming and continued by saying this is not only his installation as President, but a Celebration of RCES's accomplishments and also the Clubs 10 years' anniversary. He was proud and honoured to be President of such an energetic, generous, bunch of dedicated people.
Russell highlighted the Goals for his 2014 – 2015 year as follows.
Continue to maintain and grow an active, happy, diverse group who enjoy contributing their skills, working together and having fun.
Sense of giving to community, country in which we live.
a) Focus on our big ‘Water for Life’ and ‘Humanitarian’ projects
b) Obtain 3 major Global Grants for the very poor areas helping the forgotten Thais, Burmese etc – the ‘Beyond Frontiers’ our Club motto.
c) Develop sustainable, new projects in our local community (eg only -
d) Continue to build connections with local organisations, Rotary Clubs & support projects with such as YWCA, PSC, Sanuk Day Care, PILC, LBWVB
Continue our RCES Fund Raising activities and Global Grant funds.
Continuing to promote and inform our members and the community of the good work we do, so we can do even more.
In summary, through planning, managing and PR ensure all RCES projects, Global Grants and fund raising's are successful and members are happily involved & enjoy being in RCES.
Russell concluded with thanking Immediate Past President Nigel and the Board, his wife Maggie for her endless work and support plus all the officers and members of RCES.
Presentations of flowers were then given to the PDG, Russell, Maggie, and the Staff of Siam Bayshore Hotel. The official ceremonies were followed by a fellowship dinner with an excellent buffet and free flow wines, beer and soft drinks.
A most enjoyable evening was had by all.
