Visit of DG Peter Malhotra October 03, 2008

Obviously, Peter introduced the various facets of the reasons to have a Rotary Foundation; their importance in a manifold of activities - their involvement in these activities and how charity money is channeled and bought to the proper recipients through some 23’000 RC’s world-wide. The complexity of the RI set-up to keep control and keeping the funds moving forward with tight controls, so “no money is spilled” and how it finds those in need of support. All that and more, not an easy task in the present situation of world conflicts and the money melt-down worldwide. (e.d. “The world money crises have just begun”, so as not to quote Kurt Blau’s title of his novel: “The Future has just begun” written in the mid-fifties is definitely coming). DG Peter pressed forward the importance of the needs of “One Rotarian – One Year Contributions” to help to absorb shocks, which even well organized institutions such as Rotary International have to deal with. He highlighted his travels to bring forward the messages, which contained some touching moments and strengthened his commitment to even be a better and more efficient Rotarian.

“This commitment, Peter our DG for 2008/9, is hard to beat – may you be blessed with the strength to continue your paths of loyalties to Rotary and your very own brain-child the “Pattaya Mail Group of Companies and of course your family. We know your passing the professional torch on to Tony and we from the RCES wish you all a continued professional success and even more plenty of health”.
