At the Royal Beach Resort on the 12th June 2009, a very special evening was about
to unfold with the joint installation ceremony for the Presidents and Directors of
the three English speaking Rotary Clubs in Pattaya, for the 2009 - 2010 Rotary year.
The newly installed Presidents were, Bob Denzel, Rotary Club of Taksin-Pattaya, Helmut
Buchberger, Rotary Club of Jomtien-Pattaya and our Peter Schlageter, Rotary Club
Eastern Seaboard Pattaya.
This very splended affair, attended by more than 200 Rotarians together with their
families and guests packed the Grand Ballroom of the Royal Cliff Beach Resort.
District Governor Peter Malhotra lauded the good deeds and intentions of Rotarians,
for their efforts to ease the burden of underprivileged people. He then proceeded
to present awards to outstanding Rotarians who had served their clubs and the district
with distinction. The Rotary Foundation District Service Awards were presented to
Robert Denzel, Pranom Sornphan, Dennis Stark, Kees Peperkamp, Dr. Olivier Meyerour,
and our Jan Abbink and Henny Vermey.
We, Rotary Club Eastern Seaboard Pattaya and the Interact Club of Banglamung School
were proud to receive, the Rotary International President D.K. Lee's Presidential
Citation, for our outstanding achievements during the year.
The new presidents were then duly installed with the assistance of DG Siri Eiemcharoonlarp.
The presidents then pledged to work together for Rotary and be true to the ideals
of Rotary service, by continuing with projects to supply clean water to children,
ensure that they have good health care, alleviate their hunger and to give them help
to obtain a decent education.
The Ladies, resplendent in their evening dress and a sample of the excellent buffet
avialable for the evening.
Master of Ceremonies for the evening was our PP Steven Ryser, trying to keep cool
and in control, like the ice carving in the forground. Well done to Jan Abbink RCES,
receiving his award. (Below)
Good to see Ferenc Fricsay RCES Vice President, enjoying the evening with his guests
and the radient and beautiful as ever Ivy Schlageter, First Lady.
